WindPaddle Adventure Kayak Sail Kit - The Wind Paddle Adventure Kayak Sail Kit allows you to harness the wind and provides a safe, lightweight, efficient and easy-to-use sail for downwind or off-the-wind sailing. It is self-launching, self-standing, and stows either on-deck or below in a small package. With its ability to be quickly launched and taken down while out on the water you have a very easy to use sail for your kayak. The WindPaddle Adventure Sail was designed by sailors and kayak paddlers to be an efficient, safe and lightweight downwind sail. The unique circular design of the sail keeps the center of effort low for stability. It can easily be angled to the wind to reduce its apparent size and power, and can also be held parallel to the water/wind to de-power the sail quickly. There is no deck hardware needed (no holes drilled), simply attach the two clips of the WindHarness mount to the existing deck hardware or perimeter cord. Once deployed, use the WindHarness line kit to fine-tune positioning of the kit. When you're ready to stop, simply let go of the lines, and the Adventurer sail flattens against the deck, de-powering instantly. It is made from 1/2 oz. polyester "spinnaker" sailcloth, the same material used on racing yachts. This material is low-stretch fabric that will not absorb water and become heavy when wet. Just shake the sail to dry it. The Wind paddle Adventure sail gets its shape using a laminated flexible and non-corroding highly elastic perimeter batten. This batten can be deformed (twisted, bent, etc.) yet will still return to its original circular shape. The batten allows the sail to be coiled into 1/3's (18% of its original size!) for compact storage.
